About Me

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined" - Henry David Thoreau

My name is Cristina, I am a young PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Orléans (France) and West University of Timisoara (Romania), under international co-supervision.

During my bachelor’s, master’s, and the early stages of my PhD, I accumulated a wide range of knowledge by participating in both individual and team projects. My scientific background was further strengthened through participation in scientific competitions (1st prize at the Student Scientific Communication Competition, organized by the West University of Timisoara, 2021; Student Fellow of the Public Choice Society, Seattle, Washington, USA), national Olympiads (Special Prize at the National Olympiad of Economists in Training – ONEF 2021), and international conferences (e.g., 6th International Student Research Conference 2021 – Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen, Germany; International Conference on Applied Business and Economics, Valletta, Malta; 6th International Conference on Business, Management and Economics, Nice, France; International Conference on Empirical Economics, Pennsylvania State University at Altoona, USA).

I have also gained valuable experience in organizing scientific events. I served as the local organizing coordinator at the 29th International Panel Data Conference (IPDC) 2024, hosted at the University of Orléans (LEO), which brought together leading experts in panel data econometrics. In November 2023, I was part of the organizing team for the International Conference on “China in the World Economy”, hosted at the University of Orléans (LEO). These roles have enhanced my project management, logistical, and communication skills, as well as my ability to collaborate effectively with international scholars and professionals.
